Mo Connolly Winner of 4 Grand Slams - Signed and Framed Tennis Presentation
Maureen Catherine (‘Little Mo’) Connolly (1934 to 1969) was the first woman to win all four Grand Slam tournaments during the same calendar year (1953). She won every Grand Slam she entered (11) and at one point won 50 consecutive matches. On July 20, 1954, just two weeks after she won her third straight Wimbledon title, she crushed her right leg in a horse riding accident, ending her tennis career at age 19. Her achievements made her the darling of the media and one of the most popular personalities in the world.
This stunning one-off item of signed Tennis memorabilia contains two original press photos of Mo together with an originally signed card. Obtained from a private collector, it has been professionally framed in a stunning dark wood surround with dual mounts and a plaque, measuring in at a large and impressive 72cm by 41cm. A rare item of signed Mo Connolly memorabilia.
