Jack Nicklaus - Commemorative bank notes - Signed (5) XXXSOLDXXX

Out of stock
This rare and collectable item of Jack Nicklaus memorabilia pays tribute to statistically the greatest Golfer in history and simply a legend of the game who holds the record for the most majors. It consists of a set of 5 £5 Royal Bank of Scotland banknotes with one personally signed by Jack Nicklaus. The set are unusually sequential serial numbers with the middle number signed in black marker. They are supplied in their original commemorative wallet and envelope. The front of the £5 note is largely the same as the existing Royal Bank of Scotland £5 note, apart from the fact the golden bear logo is shown and that the serial number only appears once. In addition all the serial numbers for this commemorative banknote commence with “JWN” short for Jack Nicklaus. The reverse of the banknote has been completely redesigned and shows images of Jack holding the claret jug and playing a shot during his way to victory at St. Andrews in 1978.
The R&A clubhouse is depicted on the top left hand portion of the note and in the bottom left, Jack’s winning scores at St Andrews in 1970 (when he won an 18 hole play-off with Doug Sanders) and in 1978 are depicted. On the bottom right hand side of the note, the tee at the 18th hole can be seen along with the Swilken bridge. A card of the course for the 2005 Open is also shown. A truly stunning item to celebrate a true legend, Jack Nicklaus.
